About

I always like to tell people that from my first day of kindergarten, I knew I wanted to be a teacher.  I played “school” with my siblings well beyond the age that one usually do that sort of thing, and I suspect that I’m the only kid in the world who had a textbook collection.  I’ve always loved teaching and learning.

After six years of teaching and several years of working as an educational consultant, I had my own three children who have taught me even more about how people learn.  I currently run the Educational Resource Center of Santa Cruz, an educational toy and game lending library.  Having collected more than 3000 educational learning materials, I created this blog to share my reviews of a variety of learning materials and inspire parents and teachers to create rich learning environments.
